Jason Yu is a K-pop business strategist, artist relations manager, and content creator with 19 years of international experience, having lived for 7 years in Japan and 12 years in South Korea.
As a journalist and media professional, Jason has covered over 700 events across a wide range of industries, including film, anime, esports, J-pop, and K-pop. His work spans both editorial and strategic roles, giving him a unique, well-rounded perspective on the global pop culture landscape.

In addition to his work in Korean media, Jason previously worked at Google on the Stadia team and has professional experience in the Korean esports industry.
Today, he leads Popsori, a creative agency specializing in Asian pop culture. Jason partners with music brands, game publishers, and anime conventions to elevate their brand marketing and shape long-term strategic direction. He also works with music labels as a data analyst, providing insights that help drive smarter business decisions.
As a content creator, Jason produces YouTube video essays and mini-documentaries that explore the history, business, and behind-the-scenes mechanics of the K-pop industry.
Jason has led Strategic Marketing & Negotiations for Live Events. His first campaign, HYOLYN’s U.S. concert at Thunder Valley, demonstrated his team’s ability to develop brand strategy, drive fan engagement, and execute targeted promotions that directly increased ticket sales and event profitability
In addition to Popsori’s work in content creation and brand strategy, Jason has expanded into creative production and artist management. His focus is on guiding new talent in pop culture spaces, from shaping artistic direction to supporting early debuts and promotions
Ultimately, Jason aims to further grow Korean pop culture in the West and bridging the gap between Asian and Western entertainment industries.
