Jason Yu is a K-pop business strategist, artist relations manager, and content creator with 19 years of international experience, having lived for 7 years in Japan and 12 years in South Korea.
As a journalist and media professional, Jason has covered over 700 events across a wide range of industries, including film, anime, esports, J-pop, and K-pop. His work spans both editorial and strategic roles, giving him a unique, well-rounded perspective on the global pop culture landscape.

In addition to his work in Korean media, Jason previously worked at Google on the Stadia team and has professional experience in the Korean esports industry.
Today, he leads Popsori, a creative agency specializing in Asian pop culture. Jason partners with music brands, game publishers, and anime conventions to elevate their brand marketing and shape long-term strategic direction. He also works with music labels as a data analyst, providing insights that help drive smarter business decisions.
As a content creator, Jason produces YouTube video essays and mini-documentaries that explore the history, business, and behind-the-scenes mechanics of the K-pop industry.
Jason has led Strategic Marketing and Live Event Negotiations across the K-pop industry. He served as AleXa’s U.S. West Coast Tour Manager, overseeing logistics, venue coordination, media relations, and securing partnerships with two K-pop stores in California to support fan engagement and promotional efforts.
His first major campaign, HYOLYN’s 2025 U.S. concert at Thunder Valley, demonstrated his ability to lead large-scale event strategy. He and his team tripled ticket sales in just seven weeks, coordinated with five partner companies to ensure smooth execution, and developed brand strategy and targeted promotions that significantly increased event profitability.
Jason has recently expanded into mentorship and coaching to support the next generation of professionals aiming to break into the K-pop industry. Whether someone wants to become a journalist, producer, brand marketer, data analyst, or content creator, Jason draws from extensive experience across multiple roles in the industry.
His guidance focuses on real, practical strategies to help individuals build sustainable careers and pursue K-pop as a full-time profession.
Ultimately, Jason aims to further grow Korean pop culture in the West and bridging the gap between Asian and Western entertainment industries.
